Home Register Guidelines Project Ideas Volunteer

You must register for this event to participate. Space is limited and no entries will be accepted without registration. The deadline to register is April 19, 2019.

The STEM Fair is a non-competitive event.
Each participant will present their project to a judge, to practice communication skills, and each will receive a certificate.

Student driven projects

Project ideas should come from the students. Parents should use their best judgment in deciding when to get involved, such as when there is a potential safety issue.

Work with someone else.

We recommend students from the same grade work in a group of two or more. But, students may work on a project as an individual.

Develop your project ideas from your interest areas.

What have you wondered about? The best topics come from your own genuine curiosity about how something works, or why something is the way that it is. Do you have an idea on how to make the world a better place? Explore a solution or concept through STEM!

Once you've decided on an interest area, pick a Domain. The domains are:

  • Discover
  • Design, or
  • Demonstrate

For more information on how to work in each domain, please visit the Project Ideas tab above, or click here.

Set up a display at the STEM Fair

  • Students should arrive 5-10 minutes before their start time.
  • If you have special requirements -- access to electricity, access to water, extra space needed, etc., please specify those requirements during registration. Few tables will be reserved for projects with special requirements.
  • A trifold board is not required, however, some form of visual presentation along with information about the project, is required.
  • A display can be a demonstration, a scientific experiment or a digital presentation.
  • PTSA is not responsible for displays. Please avoid using anything valuable or breakable.
