Mrs. Gage, our wonderful Discovery Librarian, chose 30 books in the topic of grief, loss and healing. These books will be on the shelves and ready for student check out very soon.

Another very special PTSA donation to the Discovery library this year is Vox audiobooks. Mrs. Gage submitted a curriculum grant to the Discovery PTSA identifying an unmet need. Older students have Playaway audiobook players available to check out. Mrs. Gage found audio players built into books that read the book aloud so these books will be available to Discovery's younger students very soon.

In the 2021-2022 school year, Discovery PTSA donated $1000 worth of books to the Discovery library. These were in the topics of First Nation/Indigenous people, Asian authors, STEM, Social Emotional Learning, dual languages, autism, and more.

In 2020, PTSA donated books focusing on authors of color and civics and activism.

And, Mrs. Gage and the volunteer library coordinators, Reechelle Grey and Anna Reed, are always looking for additional volunteers who also love books and would like to volunteer some time to help with special projects in the library. Reach out to discoverylibrarycoordinator@gmail.com if you are interested in more information about volunteering in the library.
