Our Discovery PTSA is excited to present

Family STEAM Night

Wednesday, 5/1/24 - Drop in anytime from 5:00-6:45PM

Last entry at 6:45pm to have time to visit the stations and complete your passport!

Enter through Discovery's main doors.

All Discovery families are welcome including our ECE preschool, Transitional Kindergarten and Kinder-5th grade students and their siblings. 

Discovery students and siblings: Pick up your passport, visit stations and enter a raffle once complete!

Registration NOT required to attend. Show up and have fun!

WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS: Sign up here to make a successful, safe, fun event for all Discovery families. Parents/Caregivers, Middle and High School students plus Discovery 5th graders for this event.

  • Music with Mrs. Kruse
  • Art with Mrs. White
  • Visit with firefighters and their truck from Eastside Fire & Rescue
  • See a fish dissection with Issaquah Fish Hatchery
  • Learn about the water cycle with Sammamish Plateau Water
  • Admire art on display made by Discovery students in class with Mrs. White
  • Celebrate Discovery artists who submitted are to Reflections this year!
  • Engineer your own foil boat & testing its float and finding out how many pennies it can hold
  • Testing your fastest, farthest, loopiest paper airplane design
  • Stories and STEAM with Mrs. Gage
  • Robotics with Beaver Lake Middle School 
  • Movement and dance with Sammamish Dance Mantra
  • Coding BeeBots with Ms. Peterson
  • Playing a game of Tiny Polka Dot with your family or a classmate
  • Weather-dependent outdoor activities - fingers crossed for a dry spring day!

    • StoryWalk with a STEAM-themed book

    • Chalk art

    • Outdoor musical instruments

    • Drum circle

    • Challenge your family in a game of tetherball or 4-square

Want to share your passion of STEAM with our Discovery Community?

Take part in our Virtual STEAM Fair open to all Discovery students!

  • Discovery students pursue a topic, question, hypothesis in any STEAM domain. 
  • On our Discovery PTSA padlet, parents/guardians will post pictures or videos of their student or group project for all of our Discovery community can see our STEAM students in action.
