An Exciting Afternoon of Baseball

We’ve teamed up with the Mariners again to offer discounted tickets for you, your family and friends to take in an afternoon of baseball.

Join your fellow Discovery Eagles on Sunday, April 12, for a 1:10 p.m. game against the Boston Red Sox. Two seating options are available for purchase, with a significant portion of tickets sales going directly to the PTSA. Click here for more information. Remember to place your order before March 27; tickets are limited so order today!

The Cleanest Car on the Block

For a limited time, we are selling “Beary Clean” car wash tickets from Brown Bear Car Wash for only $10! A generous portion of the proceeds come back to the PTSA, which will directly benefit your student.

Whether you purchase for yourself or as a gift for someone else (they make great stocking stuffers!), make sure to order today as quantities are limited.

Click here to purchase before March 31; tickets will be sent home in April after Spring break.

Enjoy a Delicious Meal

Join us on Wednesday, March 25, at MOD Pizza in Sammamish and support your Discovery PTSA!

From 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., MOD Pizza will generously donate 20% of your purchase to our PTSA when you mention Discovery Elementary while placing your order.

The participating MOD Pizza is located at 22833 NE 8th St, Sammamish, 98074.

Save the Date: STEM Fair

Get ready, Eagles! The Discovery STEM Fair is coming up on Wednesday, April 22. This fun, non-competitive event encourages students to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities. Students are encouraged to work on a project at home and bring it to display at school.

Stay tuned to find more details in upcoming weeks.

Nominate an Outstanding Individual Today

Each year, the Discovery Elementary PTSA is honored to recognize those who go above and beyond in volunteering, educating, and advocacy by presenting outstanding individuals with our Golden Acorn Award.

Please think about who’s made a difference during your child’s time at Discovery, no matter how long they’ve been here. Nominate as many people as you’d like, choosing from three categories; winners not only receive a certificate and pin, but a contribution of $75 is made in their name to the Washington State PTSA Scholarship Foundation.

This is truly one of the best ways we can show appreciation towards our greater Discovery community and the tireless work our many volunteers, educators and advocates do for our kids.

Order Your 2019/2020 School Yearbook Today

Yearbooks are a wonderful way for your students to preserve memories of their time at Discovery. Ordering your copy by April 28 guarantees you’ll receive a yearbook. Quantities are limited, so make sure you order by the deadline to secure your copy.

Yearbooks are $20 (the 5th grade addendum is an additional $15) and are able to be purchased by clicking here

Not sure if you’ve already ordered a yearbook? Sign into your account on the PTSA website and view your Account Summary.

Volunteer of the Month

March’s Volunteer of the Month is Pooja Tejani. If you’ve spent any amount of time at Discovery, chances are you’ve run into Pooja. From volunteering every Tuesday in the library, to being a word list parent for Ms. Garl’s class, Pooja’s contributions make her a familiar face and fixture at school. When not doing her weekly scheduled volunteering, you can find Pooja doing one-off opportunities, like lunchroom helper, Eager Reader, and even chaperoning on field trips.

Please click here to learn a little bit more about Pooja.
