There are many ways that you can get involved at Discovery. Please consider volunteering to lead one of the PTSA programs, below, during the 2019-2020 school year:

> Multi-Cultural Night Chair - open

Timeframe: October/November
Time Commitment: 12-14 hours

Multicultural night celebrates our wonderful multicultural school community by coming together to explore facts of countries around the world, taste international food and enjoy performances from across the globe. The chair, with a committee, will be responsible for promoting and organizing the event, as well as supporting the families sharing their culture and securing volunteers to assist this event.

> Hearing & Vision Testing Chair - open

Timeframe: October/November
Time Commitment: 10 hours

Once a year, Discovery tests all students for both hearing and vision. The chair will act as liaison to school nurse, secure and schedule volunteers, and train them for morning and afternoon shifts. This is a one day event, with some pre-planning involved.

> Staff Appreciation Chair - open

Timeframe: April/May
Time Commitment: 6-8 hours

PTSA recognizes the teachers and staff with special activities and treats towards end of the year. The chair co-ordinates with volunteers and organizes activities through the staff appreciation week like door decorations for each class, staff luncheon, treat cart, and coffee cart.
