PTSA Mission and Goals

The mission of the Discovery Elementary PTSA is to enhance the educational experience of the children and their families by working in partnership with the teachers, educational staff and local community. The PTSA gives each child a legislative voice while providing safe, fun and educationally enriching activities, supported by its own fundraising.

PTSA Goals-FOR 2011-2012 approved

1. Improve communication through PTSA website, emails and bulletin board
2. Increase attendance/participation in PTSA activities
3. Increase parent/teacher involvement in activities throughout the entire school year
4. Continue focus on student safety and well-being
5. Continue to find ways to make our school more green/environmentally aware
6. The legislative issues the PTSA will focus on include: The funding of the math and science program, literacy screening and the prevention of retroactive/midyear budget cuts.
