Find the Perfect Token of Appreciation this Holiday with Staff Favorites

Saying thank you to the teachers and staff at Discovery can be expressed in a number of thoughtful ways by your family. From handmade cards or pictures with personal sentiments to small tokens of gratitude, it truly is the thought that counts!

We’ve curated a list of teacher and staff favorites to give you some ideas this holiday season and are happy to share them with you. Simply click here to explore the list, helpfully organized by grade/position.

Holiday Cookies for Lunch

A much-loved tradition at Discovery is showing our appreciation to teachers and staff with our annual Holiday Cookies for Lunch.

If you’d like to contribute, please bring 1 or 2 dozen cookies or treats to the office (note: please do NOT bring them to your child’s teacher) on Monday, December 16, by 9:30 a.m. These tasty treats can be homemade or store-bought, but we request that NO NUTS be included in the recipe. Please be sure to include a list of ingredients (if homemade) or the ingredient label (if store-bought).

Overflowing with Generosity: Our Holiday Gift Barn Donations

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Discovery families...after filling the bin to overflowing one time, it was filled AGAIN and we were able to donate over 200 items to kids in need this holiday season. THANK YOU to everyone that donated!

Volunteer of the Month

December’s Volunteer of the Month is Teresa Backus. Teresa has been a key member of the volunteer team at Discovery for over 5 years! When we look back at her time at Discovery (this is her last year as her son Carter, is in Ms. Bieck’s 5th grade class), it’s almost easier to list what she hasn’t helped with. Her contributions run the gamut from Popcorn Friday and Bus Greeter,  to Library Helper and Running Club (and everything in between!).

Please click here to learn a little bit more about Teresa.
