Dear Discovery families,

As the school year comes to a close, I would like to thank everyone for helping Discovery PTSA accomplish our goals this year including, PTSA Board members, program chairs and volunteers, as well as Ms. Marti Shefveland (Principal), Mrs. Hollie Vance (Dean of Students) and all staff who were equally committed and supportive.

We encourage you to read Discovery’s End-of-Year Report which outlines your contributions and our successes. We held many events and programs this year that were educational and fun. Your generous support allowed us to fund a variety of enrichment activities, tools and curricula that contributed directly to the school and your child’s classroom.

Discovery continues to welcome new families from around the world and across the country. The school and the PTSA work hard to create an environment that is inclusive; where families and children can feel safe, respected and comfortable in being themselves without hate, judgement or intolerance in an environment that allows them to thrive.

The PTSA’s success is dependent upon you. Your time is precious and we value your involvement, no matter how much you can give. Your membership, as well as your participation is appreciated. Our recent survey indicates that the PTSA has succeeded in its mandate to provide a fun and enriching year, though there is always room for growth. I am sure next year’s PTSA Board, led by Jillian Born as President, will continue to serve the best interests of our school community with fresh ideas, new events and fun programs.

Kindest regards,
Noreen Awan
President, Discovery PTSA
